The Importance of Stoicism

June 28th, 2023

Stoicism is an ancient philosophy that was once one of the most popular civic disciplines in the West, practiced by the rich and the impoverished, the powerful and the struggling alike in the pursuit of the Good Life. The idea, created by Marcus Aurelius, has been practiced among many for years. Marcus's book, Meditations, has many teachings of what it means to be a stoic.

I will explain in my own way in order to make it more understandable. Stoicism is acting not matter how you feel. Stoics don't get mad when someone cuts them off on the highway, they express no emotion to good or bad events in their life. They just do what they have to do, and as a byproduct they live a much happier and peaceful life.

For men it is important to chase your goals and dreams every morning when you wake up no matter how you feel. This isn't something that is achieved overnight, as for most of us, we have been acting on how we feel for most of our lives. Stoicism is something that I am still working on in my day to day life.

Just remember this, no matter whether you are happy or sad in the morning when you wake up, you must do what you have to do as a man. That is the only path to success, if you only act on how you feel, you will never get anywhere in life, plain and simple.
